Hey, so it’s 2039, and my latest trip went pretty well. The airports are very fast nowadays. At the airport you don’t need to take off your shoes and socks anymore, or move your objects. Everything is auto-scanned nowadays. We have driverless airplanes too. I mean there is a pilot just in case, but for the most part the plane steers itself. There are also holographic assistants on the planes. Press a button and they pop up to help you. It’s pretty bangin.

I went to japan for this latest trip, and most of my tour guides were robots. They’re great at letting you know all the important information about a place. There are also robots who check you into hotels, and who help you order at restaurants. It’s neat because a lot of these places are really old, but there is so much technology everywhere. It makes me feel a little bit small to be honest.

I took my hot and smart husband with me of course. He loves using his binoculars that record what he sees. Very neat when traveling through forests or landscapes. He can upload the footage directly to his online travel bank, which is super cool. He also really likes all the driverless taxis that we use on our vacations. No need for us to drive or interact with other people. Awesome!

The world is really good for us less human interaction inclined. It’s a little weird. I’d rather interact with a robot than a person. No matter how smart they get i’d still prefer them to real flesh and blood, especially when traveling. They’re everywhere. Like I said they are tour guides and also hotel clerks, but they’re also bellhops, and waiters and all kinds of other things.

Also we have better ways of talking to others. Phil and I speak no Japanese, but we can speak to even those who don’t speak any English without translator. Super easy, we just speak into the box and it’s translated into Japanese and vise versa. It’s really easy and it doesn’t miss a lot of things which is important. It also understands the nuance of certain words and phrases. Some things are really hard to verbally translate but our machines get it on the money 95% of the time! I can even chat with other tourists who speak different languages. Like if we’re in a tour group and some people are speaking English, and some are speaking Japanese, and some are speaking Italian, it can easily translate everything so that everyone can follow the conversation easily. It’s such a convenience for us. I’m really thankful that we have this sort of technology.

Well, anyway. I hope you’re good.

Lots of love,

Emm
