I was inspired to visit Europe after having been absent from the continent from some time. It’s incredible how much technology has advanced in terms of transportation. Planes have become so much faster that it’s no longer a hassle going from America to anywhere in Europe for the most part.
Additionally, the check in process as far as getting into hotels is easier than ever before. AI technology has really taken off especially so there’s hardly any service employees you actually have to interact with. It feels like you largely have the place to yourself along with the other guests.
So far on this trip, I’ve been to London and visited many of the older historical sites. Most of the tours are conducted by hand held tablets with AI technology giving you all the information you’ve ever wanted. When you go to order food in restaurants, most of the food is cooked by robots and delivered that way as well. Seems like no one has to work around here!
I also noticed a lot of drones moving back and forth inside the city. When people order things, they no longer have to wait long as automated vehicles and aerial drones drop off their packages same day or at the latest, the very next. It feels great to be able to interact with this system when traveling abroad when I need items.
Another great thing about technology is that smart phones are also AI powered. Which means that you set up an AI personality that gives you information instantaneously and is smart enough to be your best friend. It gives you important reminders, talks to you about your trip, makes recommendations, etc. It’s not like the clunky older versions of AI where you feel like you’re talking to a robot but rather a more human-like persona.
Transportation is also very different. You can order AI driven cars which take you anywhere you want to go. There’s rarely a need to have a driver’s license as most of the driving is handled by various AI systems. It feels great to be able to take a nap while you’re being driven to various parts of the country you’re seeing.
The great thing about all these AI powered systems is that it has made transportation so much cheaper. There are also fewer accidents on the road and people can go where they please without too much of a hassle. I feel like this is a revolution is tourism where people can be accommodated as much as possible without having to pay a huge premium on using services.
The last thing I liked was being able to take 3D pictures and videos which you can send to other people. It’s a sort of holographic display that really immerses you in other people’s experiences.
